Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - Answers
10. How will massage help me in the workplace
(work related injuries/stresses)?
The majority of injury seen in massage clinics these days is from the workplace. We sit at computer desks typing away for hours without stretching. We stand on concrete floors with improper shoes and drive for hours without standing up. The repetitive stresses we endure cause our muscles to adaptively shorten. Over time these muscles become strained and weak and can cause all sorts of deeper problems within the hips and spine. Headaches can form; associated nerve pain, muscle spasm, and other injuries take place. Massage can work with you to release muscle tension and relieve those associated conditions. Your massage therapist will also assign you exercises and stretches you can do at the workplace or at home to strengthen those muscles that have weakened and stretch those which are tense. These exercises will help speed your recovery time and improve your body’s fitness.Return to FAQ page.
